Headstandman Participates in Little League Opening Day!!!!

We are honored to announce that Headstandman threw out the first pitch for Alsip Little League opening day.

Headstandman grew up playing in baseball in the Alsip Little League and on May 18th 1992, was the first player in league history to do a headstand in uniform.  This spring, Headstandman returned to the field of his greatest victory to take on the greatest challenge of his life, the Headpitch.  This is the first time in Alsip Little League History that a pitch has been thrown by a person doing a Headstand and thousands were on hand to witness this historic event.

As Headstand man approached the mound, a respectful hush fell over the crowd. One could only sense that they could sense the sense of danger that was emitting from this dangerous task.  The air smelled of danger and leather.  But that's just the way Headstandman likes it.  Leatherangerous.

He took his place on the mound, stared down the catcher and got to work.  Expertly inverting himself onto the rubber and lining up the pitch and getting ready.  Mothers covered their children's eyes.  3-7 people fainted.  And then... it happened.  Rearing back, Headstandman unleashed a fury of leather and laces towards the catcher knocking him down. The crowd broke into spontaneous applause, mostly because Headstandman had just thrown a near perfect pitch doing a headstand and, if it had been measured, would have shown something like 98 mph on a radar gun.

But that was only the beginning.  Not wanting to leave without doing something further to better the community, Headstandman dug deep into his pocket and orchestrated a deep search for the one item that the League could not start the season without.  After months of soul searching and globe trotting, Headstandman was proud to present the League with a box of Cowtails for their concession stand.

Case closed.

You're welcome, Alsip.
